Willowwind’s 3rd through 6th-grade students will be constructing a nature playscape on the southeast corner of our campus for student and public use.  It will contain a tube swing, a stage, hammocks, willow huts, and an obstacle course. Additionally, there will be student-created mosaic art pieces and musical elements. Students have been working on this project since the fall.  First, the students researched through visiting local playscapes to find inspiration and searched other nature playscapes online.  The students then teamed up with Fred from Backyard Abundance to create a digital design that we could use as a foundation for our work. In the spring, students will work together to design and build multiple play elements, but in order to carry out our vision, we need your help.  You can help by donating money or supplies and volunteering with the construction.  If you know anyone who can assist with this project, please help us connect with them.

Ways to Give:

The Nature Playscape is the specific focus of our capital campaign this year. Our goal is to raise $25,000, and we would like to break ground on this project in May.

You can directly impact the school by donating three ways:

  • Through your GreenState Credit Union account. We have an incredible matching opportunity with GreenState's Give & Grow for Schools program from April 1st through April 30th. This partnership with GreenState provides members the opportunity to have their donations to Willowwind matched dollar-for-dollar and has the potential to help us raise $10,000 for the Nature Playscape. Members can make a donation here, starting on April 1st 2025.
  • Make a direct donation at any time. A direct donation will not be matching funds, but will still go towards our Nature Playscape campaign. Please contact Anne Ehlinger, annee@willowwind.org or drop a check off at school
  • Nature Playscape Wish List
If you would like to donate any of these items, the school will have a placard installed with your family’s name on it. Your family will become a permanent part of Willowwind School. Please contact Anne Ehlinger to secure your item(s), annee@willowwind.org.
