Welcome!
Willowwind’s focus on project-based learning provides students with opportunities to learn through a wide variety of independent and group projects. Whether researching and writing scripts for a play on immigration, or combining art and literacy to create a personal timeline, multi-faceted projects like these allow students to approach and explore academic topics from many angles.

Solar system path
Created in 2023 by 4th-6th grade students.
This project will be on display at Court Hill Park for the community to enjoy during the summer and fall of 2023.
The Great iowa city mural hunt
Created in 2022 by 3rd-6th grade students.
Willowwind teachers wanted to create a learning experience that would combine literacy, art and art advocacy, collaboration, and community service and engagement. This 10 week-long learning project accomplished that and more.
